Mechanical Engineering Internship

Duties:

Project engineering responsibilities requiring technical cognizance of nuclear plant components (pressure vessels, valves, pumps, heat exchangers). Functions encompass the following: Review and approval of supplier designs, specification preparation, technical negotiations and purchase order placement, establish testing requirements; engineer follow through manufacturing phase, in-plant quality assurance/manufacturing surveillance, and testing phase problem resolution. Extensive communications with customer and supplier personnel.

Experience:

Basic understanding and working knowledge of engineering drawings.

Computer skills: AutoCAD/Pro-engineer knowledge desirable.

Communication skills: Good oral and writing skills required.

Degree:

Minimum of two years education in a mechanical engineering undergraduate program. 

Travel:

Occasional (less than 10%)
