Diversity & Inclusion

It is our continuing policy to afford equal employment opportunity to qualified individuals regardless of their race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, sexual orientation, gender identity, physical or mental disability, or protected veteran status, and to conform to applicable laws and regulations.

Our policy of equal opportunity pertains to all aspects of the employment relationship, including application and initial employment, promotion and transfer, selection for training opportunities, salary administration, and the application of service, retirement, seniority, and employee benefit plan policies.

Our Affirmative Action Plan is developed locally and on an annual basis.  It provides for a comprehensive reporting and monitoring procedure.  This plan has driven us to several actions, such as diversity ambassadors at our local universities to attract interviewing candidates and career development that leads to more diversity within management promotions.

We partner with several local and national organizations to communicate our openings and encourage a diverse population to apply.  Those organizations include:

  • Achieva
  • American Legion
  • CAMEO of Virginia Tech
  • City of Schenectady
  • Department of Veteran Affairs
  • Life’s Work of Western Pennsylvania
  • National Society of Black Engineers
  • Office of Vocational Rehabilitation
  • Pennsylvania Career Link
  • Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers
  • Society of Women Engineers
  • The Urban League
  • Penn State’s Multicultural and Women Engineering Programs
  • Veterans Leadership Program of Western Pennsylvania
  • New York State Department of Labor
