Working for the Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program (NNPP) means becoming part of a team dedicated to ensuring the continuation of our nation’s security. We pride ourselves on hiring only the brightest, most ambitious applicants. In return, we strive to provide work that is challenging in an environment that makes a long-term career with us an easy decision. Our workforce ranges from employees with decades of service in upholding our company mission to recent college grads, interns, and co-ops eager for a meaningful and rewarding work experience.
Initially established in the 1950s to procure submarine components, BPMI has expanded its role as an NNPP prime contractor. Today, BPMI personnel are involved in all aspects of the design, development, procurement, and support of all nuclear submarines and surface ship (primarily aircraft carrier) construction work.
BPMI is involved in field support activities, including refueling, defueling, and overhauls. Approximately 60% of the workforce is comprised of engineers (design, project, component, stress, materials, and manufacturing engineers). In addition, the BPMI workforce includes logistics personnel, contract professionals, financial, and other professional services.
All candidates must be U.S. citizens due to government security clearance requirements.
