This critical work instills a sense of connection to the Sailors whose lives depend on our dedication, attention to detail, and focus. Our culture is one of patriotism, purpose, and pride in our employees and in the work that we perform.
To foster fellowship in the workplace and create an enjoyable work environment, BPMI sponsors several committees and clubs within our organization, each with their own mission and purpose.
We take pride in the work we perform.
BPMI sponsors an Interest & Events Council (IEC), which organizes events that emphasize the importance of employees and their families. IEC-sponsored events that are favorites of our employees include our annual spring barbecue, the Pittsburgh Pirates tailgate and game, holiday party, ice cream socials, our annual employee appreciation luncheon, and visits from food trucks in the summertime.
BPMI also supports the communities in which we operate. For more than 20 years, BPMI’s Community Affairs Committee has helped to make these communities a better place for everyone, to give our employees opportunities to volunteer, and to foster friendships among colleagues through volunteerism. Through the efforts of the CAC, BPMI supports many organizations, including American Cancer Society, American Red Cross, Central Blood Bank, Humane Society, Salvation Army, United Way, Wounded Warrior Project, local food banks, and many more. In the last five years, alone, BPMI employees have donated more than $700,000 to charity! We’re proud of the charitable spirit that is so representative of our workforce.
BPMI's DEIC Change Council consists of approximately 30 employees who want to lead positive change at BPMI, as it relates to diversity, equity, and inclusion. The mission of the DEIC Change Council is to work to integrate best practices for diversity, equity, and inclusion into organizational programs and practices, and to lead change and monitor progress for DEIC efforts at BPMI to ensure our diverse workforce sets the standard for exceptional service to the US Navy.
